Last week Ennead crossed the finish line on its 6th successful Kickstarter.
As many of you know, Ennead has been self-published and crowdfunded from day one. To be where we are in less than three years is nothing short of amazing. I want to thank each of you who subscribe, paid and free, for making this thing go. With each campaign the world of Amashik becomes more real to me… and each of you.
Above is an example of that. Here you have one of my favorite pieces from Amashik to date. This type of “tapestry” was a staple across medieval world so I’d always envisioned one made for The Rule of Nine. This one was designed and illustrated by Jon Kutzer, a phenomenal artist whose name you will undoubtedly see again. I’m still not quite sure how I plan on using this… okay, that’s not true. I just still want to keep it a secret.
While Kickstarter #6 was a win for Ennead, the funding total wasn’t high enough to warrant the scheduled roll out for 2023. So here is the new one (again):
April/May- The first half of Volume 2 (8, 9, 10) hit Kickstarter.
I know, I know. I’ve been saying that I wanted to release all of Volume 2 at once. Trust me, I still do. But I simply don’t have the funding to finish it just yet given the #’s from this past campaign. That said, I do have enough to color the pages and since I’d already commissioned a cover… it wasn’t that big of a pivot.
July/August- Either the worldbook or novel will hit Kickstarter. This one is still a true toss up. The worldbook is simpler to write, more expensive to create. The novel is more difficult to write, yet cheaper. Decisions, decisions…
November/December- The second half of Volume 2 should be ready by then and I can’t wait to share who is doing that cover. Yes, I had this one commissioned already too. I had a plan, but I had a hunch it might not pan out so I covered my bases.
This indie game is all about rolling with the punches; I’m grateful for the journey thus far and cannot wait to share more in the weeks to come.

Sounds like you have a great year planned!
