These two characters are why I created Ennead in the first place.
Ngia’wi of The Order of The Jade Crest is very special to Ennead. Almost as special as she is to me. Dreaming of this story for years now, I’ve always imagined her as the embodiment of beauty, elegance, strength, prowess, and more. She is the pinnacle of existence in the world of Amashik.
Like in most fantasy worlds the elven folk are the ideal. It was important to me that my in universe equivalents lived up to that. The Hlavin are shrouded in mystery in the timeline of our story, but truths will be revealed about them in time. Suffice it to say that their fingerprints are all over the world I am building.
Inahtuu Kinisc is the one in the driver’s seat for most of our story. He will serve as our tour guide more often than not through a world being turned on its head. His own journey of self-discovery will take place in tandem with the rest of Amashik. As the mysteries of magic and men are unveiled he will have to figure out what role, if any, he’d like to play in it all.
In TRoN Inahtuu and Ngia’wi both represent where I’d like to see the fantasy genre go as a whole. Well developed characters, with clear narrative direction, meaningful backstories that drive them, who also happen to represent a group of folks who are underrepresented in this genre.
I don’t plan on slowing down.
While I’ve been relatively quiet on this side of the pay wall, things are still moving along on the other side. New pieces are dropped each week and this week is no exception. I plan on sharing a sneak peek at Book 8 as well as some teaser art for Book 9 which will get underway here soon. Also, Book 2’s colors are complete and will be shared, via email, to all Founding Members. A preview of the first 12 pages will be available to the rest of the paid subs as well.
My vision for where to take Ennead has never been clearer. Over the next few weeks I’ll wrap Book 8, which Trent is doing an amazing job with (hang tight for a sneak peek below), then I’ll fulfill the Black and White orders from the previous Kickstarter. Once that is done I will kick things into high gear while I prep for my first full novel set in the “Rule of Nine” universe. As I begin that process I’ll be sure to keep you up to date!
