I'm so glad this one resonates with you. Miika is one of many characters in Ennead that I have deep, personal connections with. His youthful ignorance (innocence) around the harshness of the world he inhabits, his misunderstanding of the man his father is, and what his family is up against given their position in this world were all things I tried to get in touch with while writing this.
Thanks for the reply, and for this one as a whole! :)
And yeah, there's definitely something to resonate with here, even as folks (like me) who aren't financially or socially well off enough to be in exact positions of privileged ignorance and innocence as Prince Miika.
Anytime! If I’ve missed a comment in the past, my apologies.
Miika’s privilege is so circumstantial that it’s easy to feel sorry for him. He, unlike his brother, isn’t prepared for what will come his way after his mother abdicates her position atop the Ennead.
This one's a very emotionally powerful one, on a few levels for a number of reasons.
